Hand sandblasted engraved Bluestone rock paver or sign. These are available in rectangle and square dimensional pieces and irregular shaped pieces.
Pennsylvania bluestone is a dense, strong, fine-grained sandstone quarried in the northeastern United States, mostly in Pennsylvania and upstate New York. It is an excellent material for decks and patios as it resists cracking and won’t discolor. It easily can be separated into slabs of varying sizes, making it suitable for other architectural details such as steps, walls, building facades, interior floors, and fireplaces.
We will talk with you about the specific size and shape you want. We also always have a few smaller pieces on hand and will issue a refund if it is determined you want a small piece.
We will send you a layout proof(s) for approval/changes before sandblasting.
General engraving allowances: ("Characters" include spaces.)
Medium: 1 graphic and 1-3 28 character text lines, or 1-5 28 character text lines
Large: 1 graphic and 1-4 30 character text lines, or 1-6 30 character text lines
XLarge: 1 graphic and 1-6 32 character text lines, or 1-8 32 character text lines
In the “Add your personalization” section, please give us the following information (the engravings on the pictures of previous work we have done are all custom requests):
(1) the text you want engraved,
(2) any graphic you want engraved – your or a graphic from our library at: https://www.solidrockmemorials.com/graphics-library.html, and
(3) PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER on the order to facilitate the layout proof approval process; often our email with graphics gets routed into JUNK and we have to contact you to find our email.
Engraving is painted with several coats of primer and indoor/outdoor paint.
Each slab is imperfect with uneven edges and some face blemishes.
Sometimes, the work on a custom order will exceed the standard: design complexity, multiple paint colors, complex graphics, or amount of text. If this is the case with your order, we will notify you within three (3) days of any additional charge. With your approval, this charge will be sent thru our invoicing system, which receives any card payment. And if you decide to cancel the order, we will immediately refund your purchase, without penalty.
